Billy had a meltdown in the room Saturday morning. He had called Mike's wife an idiot and Mike called him out about it. Billy was pathetic, trying to play the victim and getting people on his side. Ham couldn't even stand to watch it and left the room. Do I sense the Super Secret Pity Room reopening soon?
Nanci said something ugly to Sunnie on the lines of she understood why God gave her that terrible illness she had. Well, I guess that goes for Diane, Notwithoutafight as well, huh Nanci?
Mike spent many years bashing me because of a certain incident. But we reconciled a few months ago when I defended him against an unfair slam by Sunnie. Throughout that time, though, I never doubted several of Mike's character traits. In many ways, he has much of the same 1950's character that I have... strong belief in the importance of friends and family, a well-developed work ethic, the core aspects of being a man, and so on.
But he also always had what I saw as a flaw... incessant, childish bashing of people he dislikes.
In the current situation with Zeeke and Ronda, Mike was caught between seeing a kindred "macho" soul in Zeeke and defending Ronda against Zeeke's unrelenting and ugly attacks. I was raised that a real man "takes the bullet" for his woman, so I understand his views well. I also think that Mike now sees the great flaw in Zeeke and realizes that what he does is the opposite of being a real man. Real men simply do NOT spend 5+ hours a day in a chat room bashing others.
So, I think Mike has fundamentally changed his view for the better on how to behave in a chat room, and perhaps even his general views on people's character. I'm sure, however, that there will be setbacks along the way. And I seriously doubt that Mike will ever share my enthusiasm for gardening. LOL

My general response when someone criticizes me for my associations (e.g., with Bonnie) is that such criticism can lead down a very slippery slope that's best avoided by all. Otherwise--my implication is clear--I'll have to publicly criticize YOU for who YOU befriend. So, let's just not go there, okay?
I do, however (in my head), consider a person's friends in my overall view of someone, as is true in real life. If you tell me, for example, that Jeffrey Dahmer was--and still is--your BFF, I don't see us becoming buds.

For the past few days, Cindy has been in the room talking about her latest health issue "GOUT". The other day they were talking about what could have caused it so, I did what I was told to do when I had a health issue instead of asking Sunnie or, asking the room, I GOOGGLED it! And, I proceeded to post those causes in the room. Well, last night I was reading the room when Cindy was in there and, she was sayung that the DOCTOR had told her some of the causes of this GOUT, funny thing to me was that, most of what she listed were the same things I posted from the web site on the causes....all except the first one.....OBESITY!
Oh and one other thing.....I have said many times that Cindy had a blood pressure problem which, she has denied. Last night she also posted in the room that she takes Hctz (Hydrochlorathiazide). I know someone who used to take that.....for.....HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE!!

2. Hydrochlorothiazide is a water pill used to treat fluid retention from a LARGE variety of causes--ONE of which is high blood pressure--and for a few other reasons.
3. And, gee, one of the causes of gout is... ta da... water pills.
