There have been many years when I skipped some parts of an election, including voting for President once. But I still always found good reasons to go to the polls. Sometimes it was mainly for a Senate race or a ballot initiative. Others it was primarily for local issues and races.
I understand your views on the major races, Bonnie, but perhaps there are other races and issues that might interest you.
Oh... and one very important part of voting for President is the implications for the Supreme Court. I've voted for President mainly for that reason. The Supremes often have more influence on our lives than any of the major politicians, as Obama will probably soon find out.

I wrote a letter once to each justice on the supreme court. A cop killers lawyer was trying to get a stay of execution for his client on the grounds that one of the jurors lied on her application saying that she was never a victim of domestic violence! What that had to do with anything, I don't know. This person admitted killing this cop! They never granted the stay but, I doubt that my letter had anything to do with it.
That might have happened but, Pennsylvania didn't!! I got a response from them! Wrote to them also about a cop killer that was being allowed to give the commencement speech at one of the colleges up there back in the early 90's. He is or, was on death row also. I understand your views on the major races, Bonnie, but perhaps there are other races and issues that might interest you.
Oh... and one very important part of voting for President is the implications for the Supreme Court. I've voted for President mainly for that reason. The Supremes often have more influence on our lives than any of the major politicians, as Obama will probably soon find out.

A cop killers lawyer was trying to get a stay of execution for his client on the grounds that one of the jurors lied on her application saying that she was never a victim of domestic violence! What that had to do with anything, I don't know. This person admitted killing this cop! They never granted the stay but, I doubt that my letter had anything to do with it.
