I worked *damn* hard to get each of my various degrees. During law school, for example, I worked a demanding 40-hour-a-week executive job. I also went to law school several evenings a week and studied another 20 hours or so.
I had several buddies who were mainly into partying on the weekends. At the end of almost *five years* of working a grueling 80-hours-per-week schedule, I had the law degree and admission to the bar. They had a stack of night club and bar receipts.
So, I *worked* for it AND *paid* for it. I *earned* it the old-fashioned way. The same applied to my other five diplomas. If YOU chose another path, fine, but don't be busting my chops because of your choices.

2. Bodily-kinesthetic
3. Visual-spatial intelligence
4. Interpersonal (or emotional) intelligence

I know by test results that I'm well into the top 1% for #1, which is the type tested for law school, MENSA, etc. I know by comparative experience that I've been very good at #2 (sports, dancing, etc.) and #3 (puzzles, photography, geometry). And I've been told by knowledgeable people that I'm a good writer (part of #7).
But I've always agreed with Dirty Harry's admonition that, "A man's got to know his limitations." I absolutely suck at music (#6), and struggled mightily with languages (part of #7). My inability to understand Beth and many others (especially women) says that I'm awful at #4 and probably #5.
But I've known all that, practically, for decades. I knew it because my brother was seen as very intelligent, but he was just about the exact opposite of me intellectually. Ditto for my ex-wife. And I've also seen it with Pamela. She'd do lousy on the law school test, I'm sure, but constantly amazes me with her other intellectual abilities.
And I see it in daily life, with people who well know things that I simply can't figure out no matter how many times it's explained to me. Like, how's a double-insulated tool work? And when Pamela plays my piano while singing. Or when my neighbor's kids show me one of their drawings that's ten times better than anything I've ever been able to do.
So, no, you're absolutely wrong. I don't think I'm "more intelligent" overall than anyone else. (Well, except Zeeke of course.) I can run circles around most anyone on the law school test. On the other hand, even my stick figures look pathetic. And trust me, you do NOT want to hear me sing! (I'm loud and dead flat.)
Maybe the problem is with YOU. Maybe YOU are so insecure about your intelligence that YOU need to stick labels on mine. Don't be. I'm 99.9% sure you can draw a MUCH better stick figure than I can (or sing, or understand Beth or...). And that makes us equals, in my book.

I'm guessing that the only reasons they do that are as part of "creating an atmosphere" and to justify higher prices.
